Demonhunt Strategy Guide
Getting killed too much? Cant make it to hell? This Demonhunt Strategy Guide should help you with the basics of playing Demonhunt.
1) Gear up.
By the time you get to hell, you should have at the bare minimum, a full set of dragonscale. Keep an eye on your equipment and dont leave anything behind you can use.
2) Dont waste potions.
If you are at 75/100 HP, dont waste that extremely valuable full heal potion on 25 HPs when you could just as easily wait to use it when you're in real trouble (less than about 30 health at least). The trick here, is that this requires you be much more careful. If you're being swarmed and a hell sorceror is burning you from a distance, you may be in real risk of losing 30hp in a single turn.
3) Dally in the doorway.
Seriously, if you fight in the open, you will _die_. You need to pick where to fight your battles - keep in mind that if a bunch of monsters are blocking a corridor the rest will try to find a way around, and will hit you from behind.
4) Watch out for hell sorcerors
Apart from the bosses, hell sorcerors are easily the most dangerous monsters in the game. Not only do they spawn a bunch of nasties, their real danger comes from the fact that they can burn you if you are in line of sight, without fear of hitting their own monsters. This can leave you in a very troublesome situation, with a lot of demons acting as meat shields for the hell sorceror that's grinding you down.Sometimes you can try killing him before he summons his minions - as a melee character this can be very dangerous, because if you're unlucky, you might suddenly find yourself surrounded by a bunch of greater demons - The advantage here is that while he is attempting to summon reinforcements, he's not shooting you, giving you a chance to kill him without taking damage. If you dont want to rush in, at least try to use any available ranged attacks in the hopes you can whittle him down before he summons and all hell breaks loose.
5) Think twice about getting artifacts.
Note that challenge levels have _no_ healing potions on them. If you dont have a good stock, think twice about taking them on. Artifacts are great and all, but they wont do you much good if you enter hell with 20 hp and no health potions. With that in mind, if you're in good shape, definitely go for some artifacts - they will be very useful in the endgame.
